Estate Sauvignon Blanc

Cameron Douglas MS | 93 Points
A very enticing bouquet of ripe plums and red berries, there’s a layer of stony clay mineral scents then a sweet lift from new barrel and toasty kitchen cupboard spice ideas. Firm and dry with salivating acid line and ripe polished tannins, medium+ weighted and very new to the taste still. Plums and red berry flavours, cherry and a lick of barrel spice flavours add to the delicious, freshness and mouthfeel qualities. Best from late 2025 through 2030. 93 Points Excellent.

Estate-grown, the 2022 vintage (****) was harvested from 20-year-old vines in the Mere Road Vineyard and matured for a year in French oak barrels (25 per cent new). Full-coloured, it is mouthfilling and savoury, with very good depth of ripe red berry and spice flavours, a gentle seasoning of nutty oak adding complexity, and supple, finely balanced tannins. Still youthful, it should be at its best 2026+.
